I only wish that this book was available when I was a young student! Spieler has produced an easily read and digested explanation of the U.S. House of Representatives. It's all here, from how someone is elected, to how the different leadership and committee positions work and are determined, to how the actual work is done (or not). The author finishes with a case study of how a bill makes it's way through the House, using the Affordable Care Act as an example. Spieler does a great job of presenting the information, laying it out in an easily understood manner. I am anxiously looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
